Where the trust score comes from

The trust score is CoinGecko’s, not ours: a proprietary rating of how legitimate an exchange’s reported volume is and how deep its order books are. We store it exactly as published and never recompute or adjust it — and we do not spell out its weighting, because it is not ours to describe. What is ours is the cut-off: we index nothing below 8. Every coin we forecast has at least one pair on an exchange rated 8 or above.

Frequently asked questions

What is a crypto exchange trust score?
A 0–10 rating published by CoinGecko that asks one question: is what this exchange reports actually happening? It rates how legitimate the reported volume is and how deep the order books are. The weighting behind it is theirs and proprietary, so we do not describe it — we store the score exactly as published and never adjust it.
Why only exchanges rated 8 and above?
Because the cut-off defines the universe: only coins with a pair on an exchange rated 8 or above enter our catalogue and your filters. The price history itself comes from Bitstamp, Gate.io, Binance and OKX, with CoinGecko’s aggregate as the fallback. It is a data threshold, not a verdict: an exchange under 8 is not “unsafe”, it is one we do not index.
Does a high trust score mean my funds are safe there?
No, and it is worth being blunt about it. The score measures whether an exchange’s reported volume is real and its order books are deep. It says nothing about solvency, about how client assets are held, or about whether you would get them back. A 10 can fail. Treat it as a data-quality rating, because that is what it is.
What does picking my exchanges change?
The whole platform narrows to your universe: prediction lists, rankings and the strategy engine only surface assets you can actually buy where you trade.
Can I mix trust scores?
On Pro, yes: tick 10 and 8 without 9, or any mix. Free applies one exchange at a time. The filter only decides which coins you see; it does not change a forecast or its confidence.
